“Some People tap their feet, some people snap their fingers, and some people sway back and forth. I just sorta do ‘em all together, I guess.”
-Elvis in 1956, talking about his way of moving on stage.
Over a hundred people snapped their fingers and swayed to the music of Che Orton all night. We loved his interaction with the crowd and we knew that we had a great entertainer when the dance floor remained full from the first song to the last. His Elvis impersonation, and renditions of other rock singers was fantastic.
On the night we booked Che he was not feeling very well but he still gave us a 110 per cent performance. The Show Che performed must have been great as the people are still talking about it 12 months on. We have booked Che again for another private function and everybody is looking forward to another fabulous night . Thanks Che for a memorable evening.
Che orton entertains on a regular basis at the Manurewa RSA and is well recieved by all members. Che is very popular especially with his Elvis show and fills the dance floor to capacity every night he entertains.
Che Orton has been one of the star performers at our Elvis in the park Henderson for a number of years.
Che is a great entertainer, very popular with the crowd and his Elvis outfits are fabulous.
Che performed as Elvis at the 2010 Rotary Christmas dinner. The presentation was so precise that there were moments when we thought Elvis really was in the building.
Che hip-swiveled and karate-chopped his way through a magical gumbo of music, channeling every Elvis nuance perfectly, in his dazzling studded, form-fitting costume.
Each Elvis classic transported us back in time; the nostalgia-fest included songs like Blue Suede Shoes and Heartbreak Hotel. The audience response was overwhelming, everyone sang along to Can't Help Falling in Love and the crowd ripped up the dance floor and rocked the joint as Che breathed fresh life into songs like Hunka Hunka Burning love and That’s Allright Mama.
Every song was rendered beautifully and Che captured the Elvis flamboyance brilliantly. The communion Che created between himself and the audience was almost a spiritual experience, as he bounced around the stage, playing Elvis Stlyz air-guitar.
Some Elvis impersonators come off looking cheesy, over done, even comical. Not so in this case, long time Elvis fans agreed that Che delivered a concert which was authentic and respectful.
Che mixed his songs well; in a slick, professional performance. His voice has distinct “Elvis” tones, while his vocal range and ability to sustain notes seemed effortless. Che rendered the songs with a subtlety and class which honoured the spirit of Elvis’. We would definitely commission Che to perform again at any future events.
My wife and my 25th Wedding anniversary was on the horizon and we thought what better way to renew our vows than in the Little Chapel of Love in Las Vegas. There were a few problems with this, the costs involved and the fact we would not be sharing the day with friends and family. So rather than a Las Vegas wedding we decided on a Roto Vegas wedding instead. A lakeside venue kindly hosted by friends was ideal, but what to do about Elvis. I managed to find Che’s very detailed website and made contact with him about being the celebrant? (nothing legal as we are married!) and the song set that would follow. From the first contact Che was very prompt in replying to questions, suggestions on the wedding vows and time and pricing were all handled efficiently. The day/evening went off brilliantly, he looked amazing, his vocals are great and the connection with the audience was plain for all to see. We had a huge amount of feedback from guests as to his show being the best Elvis performance they had seen and after a costume change his range of 60s and 70s hits went down very well.
I was also the organiser of the CITRENZ computing conference here in Rotorua in early July and with the Rotovegas theme being selected there was only one after dinner performer that fitted the bill ? Che. The venue was the Skyline Restaurant, up the Gondolas. We had 100 delegates present and again the professionalism and audience interaction was terrific and considered the best entertainment in 20 years of the conference. Restaurant staff were also very impressed by the show, high praise from a group that see performances of various kinds several times a week. A thoroughly professional, entertaining and down to earth guy that I have no hesitation in recommending to others.
